Target will begin selling groceries in Target stores in the US starting in April 2018.
Target will also begin selling grocery pickup at Walmart stores in May 2018.
The company said in a statement that it expects to be selling groceries and grocery pickup to more than 6 million customers in the U.S. by the end of 2020.
Walmart already has grocery pickup in its stores.
The chain has been a popular pickup destination for shoppers and is already a popular destination for customers looking to make purchases at Target.
Target announced last year that it was partnering with Walgens grocery pickup company Safeway to make grocery pickup available to more customers.
Target is expected to have grocery pickup and pickup in stores in approximately 20 markets by the time it opens in 2020.
