A man has been sentenced to jail for stealing a Walmart parking spot and using it to park his truck outside a nearby grocery store.
The man, who had a previous criminal history, was sentenced on Tuesday by Brookshire County Judge Anthony Zappala Jr. after a three-day trial.
He pleaded guilty to theft of a Walmart commercial parking space and theft of merchandise from a Walmart store in Brookshire.
The court was told the man stole a Walmart car wash and used it to drive into a nearby Walmart.
He also stole the truck he was using as a vehicle to park in the Walmart parking lot, the judge said.
The court was also told the truck was stolen on March 13, 2015.
The judge told the suspect he should have taken the Walmart carwash to a nearby Kroger store instead of taking the truck to the Walmart.
Walmart did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the judge’s sentence.
